This year's 11th Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) took place from August 21 to August 27, 2023. Fifty local designers and businesses, including some of Malaysia's top fashion labels like Mimipikita, Hatta Dolmat, Rizman Ruzaini, and Syomirizwa Gupta, present their most recent ready-to-wear collections over the course of seven days.

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week has long been associated with the Kuala Lumpur Pavilion, but this year's KLFW is unique in that fashion presentations are held in seven different locations, offering a new level of diversity and fostering a close relationship between designers and fashion fans." "Our vision for KLFW 2023 is to break through the static and noise and ensure that the focus returns to design, creativity, and the urge to push fashion forward," stated Andrew Tan, the founder of KLFW.

At the opening show of KL Fashion Week 2023, eight labels from the Malaysian Official Designers Association (MODA), including Tangoo, Styled by Peter Lum, and Atelier Prive Melson, showcased their collections. Following the eagerly anticipated return of Fairuz Ramdan, Andy Sulaiman, Ezzati Amira, Zaimi Zulkafli, and Supercrew, seven designers will make their KL Fashion Week debuts. 

 

Furthermore, under the subject 'Design To Sustain,' the three winners of 'Samsung Presents: KL10 Designer Search 2022', namely Julia Wey, Uzair Shoid, and Lurazah's Raunna,' will present their whole collections. Every collection will also feature limited edition items that can only be purchased at the Isetan Japan Store located at Lot 10 in Kuala Lumpur.

Additionally, to honour the tenacity and inventiveness displayed by regional designers and tastemakers, the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards were held twice this year, first in 2021 and again this year.
